May 2020 only few cases has emerged in past weeks, Costa Rica has the highest number of recovered patients in Central America but the Ministry of Health has extended restricting measures to prevent any sudden peak of positive Coronavirus patients. Most foreigners can stay in Costa Rica normally 90 days, but under the current Coronavirus Pandemic, border restrictions for any foreigner who entered Costa Rica after December 17, 2019 for tourism, real estate, business purposes has been granted an extension of stay until July 17, 2020.
Costa Ricas management of both airports that receive international flights (San Jose and Liberia) have protocols in place in order to deal with suspected COVID-19 cases.
